IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a globally used English proficiency test used to assess the English proficiency of non-native English speakers. The IELTS test is divided into four parts: listening, reading, writing and speaking. Exam content

Speaking
Duration: 11-14 minutes
Content: Three parts:
1. General questions and answers.
2. Independent presentation.
3. Follow-up discussion.


Exam scoring
The IELTS test uses a 9-point scoring system, with each section scored separately and ultimately an overall score is obtained. The scores for each section and the total score will be averaged to one decimal place. For example, listening, reading, writing, and speaking are 6.5, 7.0, 6.0, and 7.5 respectively. The final total score is 6.75, which is rounded to 7.0.
How to prepare for the IELTS exam
